Special Mutual Rebate

Your cheque is in the mail! Policyholders of PEI Mutual share a special relationship as Members of the Company. The Members of PEI Mutual have been protecting each other since 1885 and since that time we have welcomed Islanders to join in our values of shared protection, loss prevention and financial successes.

In years where financial results allow our Members receive Mutual Rebates in the form of reduced annual premiums. In exceptional years our Members have received Special Mutual Rebates in the form of a cheque.

As a result of the very positive shared financial experience in 2017 our Board of Directors has declared Mutual Rebates totaling approximately $4,800,000. This means that each Member as of December 31st, 2017 will be receiving:

• 10% of your 2017 premium paid to you by cheque totaling $2,400,000; and
• 10% of your 2018 premium which will be deducted from your renewal invoice totaling $2,400,000.

The Annual Meeting of the Members of the Prince Edward Island Mutual Insurance Company will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion building, 340 Notre Dame Street, Summerside, PEI on the 10th day of April, 2018, at 2:00 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to receive the financial statements and the auditor's report for 2017; to elect directors; to appoint auditors; and to transact other business which may properly be brought before the meeting.

Retiring PEI Mutual Safety Surveyor Franklin Sanderson welcomes new Safety Surveyor Gary Bryson and offers him best wishes in his new career.

Our loss prevention program, which offers free safety surveys to policyholders, was developed under Franks guidance since he started with PEI Mutual in 1985. The Survey program has benefited policyholders by preventing and reducing the risk of loss to their homes, farms, and families. With Gary joining the PEI Mutual team, Frank is confident the program is in good hands.

Welcome Gary Bryson - New Safety Surveyor

PEI Mutual is pleased to welcome Gary Bryson as its new Safety Surveyor. Gary comes to PEI Mutual with his Journeyman Electrician and Power Engineering background. He also has extensive training in Safety and Loss Prevention.

Our Loss prevention program includes free safety surveys of insured buildings. Through this program, PEI Mutual has prevented or reduced the risk of loss, protecting homes, farms and families.
