PEI Mutual is offering a $100 cash incentive to help policyholders switch their current outdoor steel oil tank to a new non-corrosive oil tank or convert to non-petroleum based
heat.
New Outdoor Home Heat Oil Tank Installation Standards (August 1, 2011)
It is recommended that tanks be installed indoors in a temperature controlled area when ever possible. Systems must be installed according to applicable Provincial Regulation,
the CSA B-139 -09 installation code and our Minimum Standards.
Minimum Standards:
- Tank - Non corrosive construction - ULC approved
- Product line - Single top feed line
- Filter - corrosion resistant eg. epoxy coated
- Stable base - 2 reinforced patio stones 61cm x 75cm (24in x 30in)
Financial Incentive to Change Outdoor Home Heat Oil Tanks
- $100 per tank
- Available for properties insured by PEI Mutual
- Provincial ID tank tag must be current. (no expired tank ID)
- Old tank must be removed
- A new non corrosive tank must be installed or dwelling is converted to non petroleum based heat source
- System must meet our new standards
- Installation and purchase documents to be provided
- Payment is made to named policyholders
- Available until December 31st 2012
To apply call 1-800-565-5441 when you have removed your old tank and a new tank is installed. Our Agent will survey your new system and submit a request for payment.
